Poverty is rarely as simple as it looks.
Poverty is complex. Many in poverty do not just face a lack of money to meet daily living needs. They often face other debilitating circumstances, such as chronic health conditions, dysfunctional family relationships, low income jobs, poor social support which limit opportunities and options.
Families striving to break out of poverty often take 2 or more generations to do so. They need strong and sustained support from the community.
