"In May 2023, the Chinese Annual Conference (CAC) held the Loving Families Carnival to fundraise for families in distress served by MWS. The fundraising carnival brought together over 2,000 participants from 17 local churches. More than $128,000 was raised and we received encouraging feedback from the participants. We hope to organise more of such events to create synergy among the Chinese churches."
"As a Methodist, I have always been a regular donor of MWS, and for my 60th birthday bash last year, I decided to ask my 60 guests to donate to MWS instead of giving me presents. It took me a lot of courage to ask for cash gifts as it is uncommon in our culture, and I was pleased that I managed to raise over $2,000! I was inspired by my parents who did the same for my grandparents' golden wedding anniversary over 40 years ago. They taught us to be compassionate to those less fortunate than us, and I hope to instill that in my children by following their example."
